Computer-on-Module COM-SPEAR1340

The COM-SPEAR1340 Computer-on-Module board can serve as a building block in  wide variety of embedded applications. This system on module board provides access to most of the peripherals available at ST SPEAR1340 system-on-chip device.

The COM-SPEAR1340 computer-on-module is based on the powerful dual-core ARM Cortex A9 system-on-chip processor with advanced multimedia capabilities. It has built-in high performance 2D/3D GPU, hardware video encoder and decoder and video input parallel port, with alternate configuration for 4 camera interfaces.

In addition to the standard set of peripherals (LCD, Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe 2.0, 3Gb/s Serial ATA, memory card interfaces, etc.) COM-SPEAR1340 system on module provides access to 4 camera interfaces, 2 USB 2.0 Host ports + 1 USB 2.0 OTG port (with integrated PHY) and has support for second LCD (LVDS) in some of the modifications.

Open source Linux and Android operating systems, tools and development environments, ported and optimized for ARM and ST40-based platforms are freely available at and web sites. Both COM-SPEAR1340 and SBC-SPEAR1340 schematics can be downloaded directly from the web site and used as a reference design during you custom board development.
